Dear Friends

After spending a large part of my life promoting and defending the memory and the work of my father, I have decided to create, with the support and valued assistance of Patrick de Watrigant, L’Association des Amis de Paul-Cesar Helleu, so that my actions can be pursued and the « catalogue raisonné» finalised.

For many years now, I have gathered an innumerable documentation, not only connected to the works of my father but also to his life.
His life is mirrored by the comprehensive exchange of correspondence my father held with those who fashioned the Belle Époque, mainly his friends in the worlds of art, literature and a then newborn cinema.

I wish to share this priceless testimony of a society that has since disappeared and of which I may well be the only survivor..
